Week 7: Moving Forward With a Driving Passion
The first three of
Stephen Covey's habits are the foundation upon which you can build a
successful, meaningful life.
1. Be proactive
2. Begin with the end in mind
3. Put first things first
I think it's interesting to consider how well the Gospel of
Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation help us with each of these 3
habits. We are taught the importance of agency. We are reminded
often of our end goal--eternal life with our Father in Heaven and our families
forever. And in church and General Conference and all the lessons in between
we are taught about putting first things first--like prayer, scripture study,
our family and service to others. While I appreciate and see the
importance of the other 4 habits, these first 3 feel the most meaningful and
relevant to me at this point in my life.
It is when I am being
proactive and looking for opportunities to grow and learn that I have been
blessed with inspiration. As I take time
to plan and prepare for my future and daily do the things that really matter, I
am blessed to be able to experience private victories and continue to prepare
for future public victories.
